All of the educational sessions and workshops for the August Conference will be located at the scenic St. Edmund's Retreat on Ender's Island in Mystic, CT.
Described as a "little known gem" this 11 acre island is surrounded by beautiful gardens framing breathtaking ocean vistas. Home to St. Edmund's Retreat, there is a soulful tranquility to this place that seems to hang in the air with the ocean breezes. There are plenty of garden paths to walk and seaside benches to soak in the sun and saltwater air. It is a short trip into the picturesque coastal village of Stonington, CT., one of the last remaining authentic New England fishing villages, where you will find the Main Street full of wonderful antique stores, book shops, artistic boutiques and some wonderful places for Oceanside dining. The neighboring town of Mystic, CT is home to the Mystic Aquarium, and, of course, Mystic Pizza - the original site for the movie of the same name.
Directions to Ender’s Island, St. Edmund’s Retreat:
St. Edmund's Retreat is easily accessible from I-95, the main interstate highway serving the east coast.
Take I-95 to Connecticut Exit 90 for Mystic.
Proceed south on Route 27 to U.S. Route 1.
Turn left on Route 1, heading north, and proceed to first light.
Turn right onto Mason's Island Road.
Bear left at all forks and follow the signs for Enders Island.

Location and Point-to-Point Directions The Inn At Mystic is 130 miles from New York City and 90 miles from Boston. Take I-95 to Exit 90. Go two miles south on Route 27. Turn left onto Route 1. First driveway on the left.
Travel By Train Several Amtrak trains stop each day in Mystic from Boston (about 2 hours)and New York (about 2.5 hours). For departure times, call Amtrak at 1-800-872-7245.
Travel By Plane The Groton-New London Airport is roughly eight miles from Mystic, with several flights to and from New York. You can also get to Mystic from larger airports like Bradley Airport in Hartford, CT, which is about 2 hours away. Providence, Rhode Island's, Green Airport is 45 minutes away. T.F. Green Airport is less than on hour from the Inn with incoming flights from South West Airlines, American, Delta, and U.S. Air.
Continuing Education Credits
This inter-disciplinary program is intended for adult professionals from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Material will be presented at a post-graduate level. All presentations are open to the general public.
Continuing Education Credits will be offered for participants with a completed registration form and payment in addition to a completed evaluation form. CECs are offered at 1 CEC per hour of educational programming.
Conference Learning Objectives:
This conference is designed to help you:
1. Recognize the difference between a cultural understanding of creativity and a depth psychological approach to creativity
2. Apply an archetypal understanding of the creative unconscious to your own creative engagement/practice.
3. Practice engaging with the creative and applying depth psychologically based analysis to determine "meaning."
4. Explain the relationship between the ego centered persona and the creative unconscious as it manifests in images.
5. Describe the therapeutic benefits of working with the expressive arts as a modality to encourage symbolic expression of experiences.
Cancellations and Refunds: A full refund minus a $50 administrative fee, is given if cancellation is made prior to two weeks before the beginning of the program. A fifty (50) percent refund is given if cancellation is made less than two (2) weeks before the conference.
